That Was The Week That Was

 Many years ago, there was a TV show "That Was The Week That Was" Self explanatory me thinks. It was always funny. Or almost always funny. But that term describes this past week. Indeed.

I am afraid we are just getting started too. I hope not. But I'm not seeing a lessening of the hatred. Not at all.

 I could say TGIF but I have been retired since 2009. That doesn't apply in my case. For the rest of the workers though, TGIF! Holiday Weekend too. Last big one of the summer of 2025. 

I do not do political "stuff" on my blog However this week, once again  horror of all horrors.  Another school/church shooting. All the details are out there so I need not bore you. But a mentally ill young person chose to take out his hatred of the world and himself by shooting up a Catholic Mass at a Catholic school.  And sadly the media is crazy obsessed with defending  the Trans "community".  Guns are the problem. Trump is the problem.  Never the guilty ones. And now a new issue, prayer. Leading Democrats all speaking out against prayer. Waste of time. we shouldn't be doing it. So the cultural war opens a new front. Against Prayer. Democratic party is I believe the party of satan. They are certainly following a satanic agenda. And they are becoming more bold. Nastier. When does it stop? I don't know. I only have one word. PRAYER. It helps I don't care what anyone says. 

Enough for now. I do not like political discussion. This is political yes but more so now it is a deep seated moral issue. When a society decides that abnormal behavior is not only acceptable but encouraged, We are done. Or close to it.

If you disagree with my opinions here, I don't care. I will pray for you.

After …. well iced

Quick road trip to visit The Doc and Grandson!! We rented a car to keep the miles off of our car. This morning at a rest stop, getting out of the car (Toyota Corolla) I twisted my foot and fell hard on my knees elbows and my face. Yes I smashed my face …. Bleeding … badly … . Toyota Corolla is a small low sitting car. And I hurt myself getting out of it. I also destroyed my glasses. So I iced my eye ( I have a serious shiner) and went to LensCrafters and they helped me out in 5 minutes . New frames …popped in the lenses …good to go . Multiple thanks and kudos to Lens Crafters in Roanoke by the mall. 

So we are here. Damaged goods but still alive. 

Thank you God for preventing what could have been much worse. 

Thank you  Lens Crafters for actual customer service and actual compassion. That is so rare nowadays and greatly greatly GEATLY appreciated. 

Now on to the visit

Friday Dear Diary

 Been a long week here. Nothing really bad happened but it was just the stress of waiting on a doctor consult for some tests I’ve had over the last month. They cannot pinpoint the “thing” they were looking for. So we will circle back around in 6 months and start over. For now though I’m off the hook. Again … old age sucks. But for now I’ll take the mulligan.

Old age medical crap

 

Big deal doctor visit Friday. My labs led to a few scans showing an irregularity with my parathyroid gland. This is a mini gland that hangs out next to the thyroid gland which is in the neck. For some reason it is behaving badly and putting out too much calcium into my system. Age is the main reason why this would happen but the doctor is going to tell me how he will deal with it. My Doctor son says it needs to be cut out,  too much calcium is no good,  so I foresee some surgery in my near future. So between now and Friday I will be stressed out and worried about it. Everyone tells me not to worry it’s no big deal. My response is that when they have a lump in THEIR necks then they can not worry about it. I can’t stand the fake well wishing.
